Yellow crowned parakeets in the wild

In march 2011 we visited New Zealand again, this time we kept staying on the north island.
Kakariki we saw:

on Tiritiri-Matangi Island
in the Pureora Forestpark
in "Zealandia" / Wellington
in the Otoharanga Wildlife Sanctuary.

Yellow crowned parakeets we could hear in some native forests but they were mostly hidden in the high tops of trees.

Pureora Forestpark -
Ngaherenga Campground Yellow crowned parakeets do not belong to the highly endangered species of New Zealand. They are living in the high tops of the rainforest where they are safe against the most predators .
While hiking through the natural forests we often heard kakariki. At this campground we were able to make few pictures of the yellow frontet parakeets (pics 2 & 3).

Picture 4 shows a flying Kaka. Those parrots we saw several times flying over the campground and sitting in the trees.
